Jialue Fan received the B.E and M.S. degree from Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University, P.R.China in 2005 and 2007 respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from Department of EECS at Northwestern University in 2011 (advisor: Prof. Ying Wu). His research interests include computer vision and image/video processing. His Ph.D. thesis focuses on visual tracking. He was with Adobe Systems Incorporated (summer 2010), Siemens Corporate Research (summer 2009), and NEC Laboratories America, Inc. (summer 2008), respectively. During 2005 and 2007, he was with the Multimedia Signal Processing Laboratory of Tsinghua University, under the supervision of Prof. Xudong Zhang. He serves as a reviewer for premium academic conferences (e.g., ICCV, CVPR, ECCV, SIGGRAPH Asia), and for several international journals (e.g., TPAMI, TIP, CVIU, SPL, TCSVT, MVA, JVCIR, PR). He received student travel grant from ECCV in 2010. He received Terminal Year Fellowship and Walter P. Murphy Fellowship from Northwestern University in 2010 and 2007, respectively. When he was in Tsinghua, he won the second prize (Honorable Mention Award) for International Interdisciplinary Contest in Modeling (ICM) in 2004. He also received the scholarship four times from Tsinghua University for academic excellence or science and technology innovation. Before he went to Tsinghua, he was with No.1 Middle School affiliated to Central China Normal University from 1995 to 2001. He won silver medal in Chinese Mathematical Olympiad (CMO, also known as winter camp) in 2001. He was selected to the prestigious Wuhan training team (also first prize winner, top 8 from Wuhan city) for the fifth National “Hua Luogeng Gold Cup” Mathematics Competition Final in 1995. The team, the champion over all teams of China, was coached by Huawei Zhu. |
